Storytelling Lab

The world needs to listen to teachers and teachers need to be heard.

Stories have the power to connect us, move us, and challenge us. Anything we experience that does not get structured narratively is not remembered; “Stories are powerful communication vehicles because they are patterns our minds are primed to receive and recall” (Kahneman, 2010).

By making the stories of educators more visible and audible, we seek to elevate the status of the teaching profession.

Current lines of work

Journalism is a pillar of democracy

  • We build the capacity of teachers as storytellers. We work with different partners to help practitioners tell their stories in impactful ways. Research on teachers as journalists here.

  • We make short and engaging collections of stories in different formats findable and usable by educators on the frontlines.

  • We improve access to educational research for practitioners. The storytelling lab works with partners on different actions, ways, and formats that connect research to practice.

Our work is all about visibility and collaboration. We are always looking to hear from partners who work in making educators recognized and supported.
